রাজশাহী বিভাগ, আইইএবি।
০৪ (চার) টি শিল্প বিভাগ এবং ১০ (দশ) টি সাধারণ বিভাগ মোট ১৪ (চৌদ্দ) টি সাংগঠনিক বিভাগের মাধ্যমে সমগ্র বাংলাদেশ ব্যাপী আইইএবি এর সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রম পরিব্যাপ্ত / পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। আইইএবি এর ১০ (দশ) টি সাধারণ সাংগঠনিক বিভাগের মধ্যে রাজশাহী বিভাগ আইইএবি এর অন্যতম ০১ (এক) টি সাধারণ সাংগঠনিক বিভাগ।
আইইএবি এর ১৪ ( চৌদ্দ) টি সাংগঠনিক বিভাগে আইইএবি এর জাতীয় প্রেসিডিয়াম কাউন্সিল থেকে ০১ ( এক ) জন করে সদস্য দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হিসেবে আছেন। সেই মোতাবেক, রাজশাহী বিভাগের জন্য জাতীয় প্রেসিডিয়াম কাউন্সিল থেকে ০১ ( এক ) জন সদস্য দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হিসেবে আছেন। রাজশাহী বিভাগের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য এবং রাজশাহী বিভাগের ১০ (দশ) টি সাংগঠনিক কাঠামো থেকে নির্বাচিত কাউন্সিলরগণের সমন্বয়ে রাজশাহী বিভাগের বিভাগীয় কমিটি (Divisional Committee) গঠিত হয়েছে / হবে। কাউন্সিলরদের মধ্যে একজন চীফ কাউন্সিলর থাকবে। রাজশাহী বিভাগের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য রাজশাহী বিভাগীয় কমিটির সভাপতির ভুমিকা পালন করবেন এবং রাজশাহী বিভাগের চীফ / প্রধান কাউন্সিলর রাজশাহী বিভাগীয় কমিটির সাধারণ সম্পাদকের ভুমিকা পালন করবেন। রাজশাহী বিভাগের বিভাগীয় কমিটির সদস্য সংখ্যা ১১ (এগার) জন। উল্লেখ্য যে, রাজশাহী বিভাগের সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রম বিশেষ তদারকি ও ত্বরান্বিত করতে আইইএবি এর জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটি থেকে ০১ ( এক) জন সদস্য বিশেষ দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হিসেবে আছেন। আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটি থেকে রাজশাহী বিভাগের জন্য প্রথম বিশেষ দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত সদস্য হলেন প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আলতাফ হোসেন।
প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আশিবুল বাশার, প্রকৌঃ আলতাফ হোসেন, প্রকৌঃ মাসুদ হাসান আল কারামি এবং প্রকৌঃ মোঃ ফকরুদ্দীন আহাম্মেদ রানা সবাই আইইএবি এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্য এবং সবাই আইইএবি এর রাজশাহী বিভাগের গর্বিত সদস্য। প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আসিবুল বাশার রাজশাহী বিভাগ থেকে নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত প্রথম প্রেসিডিয়াম মেম্বার এবং প্রকৌঃ মোঃ ফকরুদ্দীন আহাম্মেদ রানা রাজশাহী বিভাগ থেকে নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত প্রথম চীফ কাউন্সিলর। প্রকৌঃ মোঃ ফখরুউদ্দিন আহমেদ রানা, প্রকৌঃ মাসুদ হাসান আল কারামী, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আশরাফুল ইসলাম, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ হাবিবুর রহমান, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ মাহবুব সাইদী প্রিন্স, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ মিজানুর রহমান, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আব্দুস সাত্তার ফরহাদ, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ রমজান আলী এবং প্রকৌঃ মোঃ সিরাজুল ইসলাম হলো আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে রাজশাহী বিভাগের বিভিন্ন কাঠামো থেকে নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত প্রথম কাউন্সিলর।
রাজশাহী বিভাগ সাংগঠনিকভাবে শক্তিশালী একটি বিভাগ। আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে, আইইএবি এর ০৫ (পাচঁ) সদস্য বিশিষ্ট প্রথম জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটির একজন সদস্য হিসেবে প্রকৌঃ আলতাফ হোসেন নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত হয়েছিলো এই রাজশাহী বিভাগ, আইইএবি থেকে। পরবর্তীতে তিনি (প্রকৌঃ আলতাফ হোসেন) আইইএবি এর প্রথম জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটির সহ-সাধারণ সম্পাদক কাম সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক( ভারপ্রাপ্ত) নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত হয়েছিলেন। আইইএবি এর স্লোগান এর প্রথম অংশ “ প্রকৌশলী পরিবার দেশ গড়ার হাতিয়ার”এটা প্রকৌঃ আলতাফ হোসেন প্রথম প্রস্তাব করেন এবং পরবর্তীতে এউ স্লোগানট গৃহীত হয়। আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে আইইএবি এর গঠনতন্ত্র-যাচাই, বাছাই, বিশেলষণ, মূল্যায়ণ ও চূরান্তকরণ কমিটির নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত সদস্য সচিব (প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আসিবুল বাশার) হলো এই রাজশাহী বিভাগ, আইইএবি এর একজন গর্বিত সদস্য। এমনকি, আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে আইইএবি এর ওয়েবসাইট কন্টেন্ট ডেভেলপমেন্ট কমিটির নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত সভাপতি (প্রকৌঃ মাসুদ হাসান আল কারামি) এই রাজশাহী বিভাগ, আইইএবি এর একজন গর্বিত সদস্য।
রাজশাহী বিভাগ বাংলাদেশের মধ্য-পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের একটি প্রশাসনিক অঞ্চল। রাজশাহী বিভাগ শিক্ষার নগরী ও বরেন্দ্রভূমি হিসাবে পরিচিত। ৮ টি জেলা নিয়ে রাজশাহী বিভাগ গঠিত ( রাজশাহী, চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ, নওগাঁ, নাটোর, পাবনা,সিরাজগঞ্জ, বগুড়া, জয়পুরহাট) । কৃষি প্রধান বিভাগ হওয়ায়, প্রতিটি জেলাই দেশের উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক ভুমিকা রেখে চলেছে। এই বিভাগের কোল ঘেঁষে বয়ে গেছে পদ্মা ও যমুনা নদী। মহাস্থানগড়, বৌদ্ধবিহার, নাটোর রাজবাড়ি ও চলনবিলের মত উল্লেখ্যযোগ্য প্রাচীন সম্পদের সংগ্রহ আছে এই বিভাগে। সেই সাথে নাটোরের কাঁচাগোল্লা, বগুড়ার দই, চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ ও রাজশাহীর সমগ্র বাংলাদেশে বিখ্যাত।
বাংলাদেশের অন্যান্য অঞ্চলের মত রাজশাহী বিভাগেও নদ-নদীর অভাব নেই। রাজশাহী বিভাগের উল্লেখযোগ্য নদ-নদীসমূহ হচ্ছে পদ্মা, যমুনা, মহানন্দা, আত্রাই, ইছামতি, করতোয়া, বড়াল, নাগর , বাঙ্গালী প্রধান।
রাজশাহী শিক্ষা নগরী হিসেবে পরিচিত। এখানে আছে দেশের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, আছে প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, মেডিকেল কলেজসহ অনেকগুলো উচ্চশিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান। রাজশাহী প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, পাবনা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, পাবনা টেক্সটাইল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, রাজশাহী মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল, বগুড়া মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল, রাজশাহী কলেজ, রবিন্দ্রনাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, পাবনা এডওয়ার্ড কলেজ, আজিজুল হক কলেজ, রাজশাহী পলিটেকনিক ইন্সটিটিউট সহ বিভিন্ন টেকনিক্যাল ইনস্টিটিউট এবং পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউট এই বিভাগে অবস্থিত।
পাবনা মানসিক হাসপাতাল সারা বাংলাদেশে স্বনামধণ্য। মানুষের মধ্যে একটা বাণী প্রচলন আছে “কারো মধ্যে পাগলামীর লক্ষণ দেখা দিলেই সবাই এক বাক্যে বলে; তুকে পাবনা মানসিক হাসপাতালে পাঠাতে হব “।
রাজশাহী বিভাগের রূপপুর পারমাণবিক বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র হচ্ছে ২.৪ গিগাওয়াট ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন একটি পরিকল্পিত পারমাণবিক বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র যা বাংলাদেশের পাবনা জেলার পাবনার ঈশ্বরদী উপজেলার অন্তর্গত পাকশী ইউনিয়নের রূপপুর গ্রামে নির্মিত হচ্ছে । এটি বাংলাদেশের প্রথম পারমাণবিক বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র।
শিল্প ক্ষেত্রে রাজশাহীঃ রাজশাহী বিভাগ এক সময় রেশমের জন্য বিখ্যাত ছিলো। বর্তমানে বেশীর ভাগ রেশম কারখারা বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। তবে কিছু রেশম কারখানা চলমান আছে। রেশম কারখানাগুলো বাংলাদেশ রেশম বোর্ডের অধীনস্থ। রেশম থেকে রেশমী সূতা তৈরী হয় । যাহা অনেক উন্নত ও দামী।
রাজশাহীতে শিল্পপ্রতিষ্ঠান নির্মাণে গ্যাস সংযোগের সমস্যা অবসান হওয়ায় এখন দিনের পরিক্রমায় শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠানের সংখ্যা বেড়েই চলেছে। ইতোমধ্যে রাজশাহীতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত শিল্প-কারখানাগুলো গ্যাস সংযোগ পেতে শুরু করেছে। রাজশাহীতে উল্লেখ্যযোগ্য শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান হলোঃ এসিআই-গোদরেজ, বিসিকে পলাশ মেটাল, তাসকিস, রিগেট অ্যালুমিনিয়াম, বিশাল, রুচিতা এবং রাজশাহী মেটাল লিঃ, রাজশাহীর সপুরা বিসিক শিল্প নগরী এলাকার মডার্ন প্লাস্টিক ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ লিমিটেড, জাহিদ অ্যালুমিনিয়াম ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ, প্রাণ এগ্রো লিমিটেড, অ্যারোমা ফুড ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ, সাঁকোয়া টেক্স লিমিটেড, এমএইচ ফুড অ্যান্ড বেভারেজ লিমিটেড ও নভোএশিয়া ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ লিমিটেড, রাজশাহী খড়খড়ি নারিকেলবাড়িয়া আনোয়ারা মান্নান টেক্সটাইল মিলস লিমিটেড, রাজশাহীর পবায় অম্রিত গ্লোবাল বাংলাদেশ প্রাইভেট লিমিটেড ইত্যাদি।
রাজশাহী সহ গোটা উত্তরাঞ্চলে গার্মেন্টস ব্যবসার দ্বার খুলতে যাচ্ছে ‘সাকোয়াটেক্স। উৎপাদনের শুরুতেই প্রতিষ্ঠানটিতে কর্মসংস্থান হয়েছে ১০ হাজার বেকার মানুষের। ক্রমান্বয়ে এর পরিধি বাড়ছে। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বাড়ানো হবে জনবলও। এটি মহানগরীর বিসিক এলাকায় অবস্থিত।
রাজশাহী বিভাগের পাবনা জেলার ঈশ্বরদীতে গড়ে উঠেছে ঈশ্বরদী রপ্তানী প্রক্রিয়াকরণ এলাকা ( আইইপিজেড)। ঈশ্বরদী রপ্তানি প্রক্রিয়াকরণ অঞ্চল সংক্ষেপে যেটি ‘ঈশ্বরদী ইপিজেড’, বা, ‘পাবনা ইপিজেড’ নামেও পরিচিত। এটি বাংলাদেশের একটি বিশেষ অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল, যা বাংলাদেশের উত্তরাঞ্চলের শহর পাবনার অদূরে ঈশ্বরদী এলাকায় অবস্থিত। এই রপ্তানি প্রক্রিয়াকরণ অঞ্চলটি ২০০১ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে স্থাপিত হয়। ৩০৯ একর এলাকার ওপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত এই ইপিজেডটি বাংলাদেশের ৩য় বৃহত্তম রপ্তানি প্রক্রিয়াকরণ এলাকা ।
রাজশাহী বিভাগে অন্যান্য বিভাগের তুলনায় শিল্প-কারখানা / প্রাইভেট বা বেসরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান কম হলেও বর্তমানে গ্যাসের সমস্যা সমাধান হওয়ায় বিভিন্ন বৃহৎ বা ভারী শিল্প / ক্ষূদ্র ও মাঝারী শিল্প / বেসরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান গড়ে উঠছে। রাজশাহীতে শিল্পপ্রতিষ্ঠান নির্মাণের বিরাট সম্ভাবনা থাকলেও গ্যাসে সংকটের কারণে একটা অনেক বড় উদ্যোক্তাকে এতোদিন পিছু হটতে হয়েছে। রাজশাহী বিভাগে শিল্প ক্ষেত্রে অঞ্চলে গ্যাস সংযোগ চালু হওয়ার পর শিল্প কারখানা ক্রমাগতভাবে বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এখন রাজশাহীকে ব্রান্ডিং করা জরুরি। রাজশাহীতে এখন গ্যাস রয়েছে, জমির দাম সস্তা, প্রচুর জনবল রয়েছে এবং জনবল সহজলভ্য। এখানকার মানুষ শিল্প নির্মাণের পক্ষে। রাজশাহী বিভাগে অঞ্চলভেদে বিভিন্ন এলাকায় শিল্প জোন / শিল্প এরিয়া করার মত সম্ভাবনাময় পতিত ভুমি আছে। কারখানা স্থাপনের মধ্যে দিয়ে অর্থনৈতিকভাবে পিছিয়ে থাকা রাজশাহী মাথা উঁচু করে করে দাঁড়াতে পারবে, অনেক মানুষের কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ হবে। কাজের জন্য মানুষ আর ঢাকায় ছুটবেন না। বর্তমান সরকার যেহেতু শিল্পপ্রতিষ্ঠান বিকাশে যথেষ্ট সচেতন। তাই, সরকারের সু-দৃষ্টি পড়লে রাজশাহী বিভাগকেও শিল্প ও অর্থনৈতিক বিভাগ হিসেবে গড়ে তোলা সম্ভব।
সরকারী ও বেসরকারী উদ্যোগে রাজশাহী বিভাগে গড়ে উঠেছে বিভিন্ন অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চন / শিল্প অঞ্চল। যেমনঃ নাটোর ইকোমিক জোন (লালপুর), রাজশাহী ইকোনমিক জোন (পবা), বগুড়া ইকোনমিক জোন-১ (শাহাজাহানপুর), নাটোর ইকোনমিক জোন-২ (নাটোর সদর), সাহাহার ইকোনমিক জোন ( সাপাহার, নওগা), পাবনা ইকোনমিক জোন (বেরা) এবং সিরাজগঞ্জ ইকোনমিক জোন।
আইইএবি এর রাজশাহী বিভাগের অধীনস্ত সাংগঠনিক কাঠামোগুলো নিন্মে বর্ণিত হলো। যেমনঃ- ১। রাজশাহী জেলা ২। রাজশাহী মহানগর ৩। চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ জেলা ৪। সিরাজগঞ্জ জেলা ৫। বগুড়া জেলা ৬। নওগাঁও জেলা ৭। নাটোর জেলা ৮। জয়পুরহাট জেলা ৯। পাবনা জেলা ১০। আইইপিজেড- ঈশ্বরদী উপজেলা শিল্প ইউনিট।

পাবনা জেলা এর অধীনস্ত আইএবি এর সাংগঠনিক কাঠামো সমুহঃ–

Rajshahi Division, IEAB
The organizational activities of IEAB are being carried out all over Bangladesh through 04 (four) industrial divisions and 10 (ten) general divisions totaling 14 (fourteen) organizational divisions. Among the 10 (ten) General Organizational Divisions of IEAB, Rajshahi Division is one of the General Organizational Divisions of IEAB.
14 (fourteen) organizational divisions of IEAB have 01 (one) members as incumbents from the National Presidium Council of IEAB. Accordingly, 01 (one) member from National Presidium Council for Rajshahi division is in charge. The Divisional Committee of Rajshahi Division has been/will be formed by the presidium members in charge of Rajshahi Division and councilors selected from 07 (seven) organizational structures of Rajshahi Division. Among the Councilors there will be a Chief Councilor. The presidium member in charge of Rajshahi Division will play the role of President of Rajshahi Divisional Committee and Chief/Principal Councilor of Rajshahi Division will play the role of General Secretary of Rajshahi Divisional Committee. The number of members of the Divisional committee of Rajshahi division is 08 (eight). It is noted that 01 (one) member from the National Steering Committee of IEAB is specially assigned to supervise and accelerate the organizational activities of Rajshahi Division. In the history of IEAB, Engr. Md. Altaf Hossain is the first special responsible member for Rajshahi Division from the National Steering Committee, IEAB.
Engr. Md. Asibul Bashar, Engr. Altaf Hossain, Engr. Masud Hasan Al Karami and Engr. Md. Fakruddin Ahmed Rana are all founder members of IEAB and all are proud members of Rajshahi Division of IEAB. Engr. Md. Asibul Bashar is the first elected / nominated Presidium Member from Rajshahi Division and Engr. Md. Fakruddin Ahmed Rana is the first elected / nominated Chief Councilor from Rajshahi Division. Engr. Md. Fokurddin Ahammed Rana, Engr. Masud Hasan Al Karami, Engr. Md. Asraful Islam. Engr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Engr. Md. Mahbub Shaidee Prince, Engr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Engr. Md. Abdus Sattar Forhad, Md. Ramjan Ali and Md. Sirajul Islam are the first elected / nominated Councilors from various structures of Rajshahi Division in the history of IEAB.
Rajshahi Division is an organizationally strong division. In the history of IEAB, Engr. Altaf Hossain was elected / nominated as a member of the 05 (five) member first National Steering Committee of IEAB from this Rajshahi Division, IEAB. Later he (Engr. Altaf Hossain) was elected/nominated as the Joint General Secretary cum Organizing Secretary (Acting) of the first National Steering Committee of IEAB. The first part of the slogan of IEAB is “Prowkusali Paribar Desh Garar Hatiyar” which was first proposed by Engr. Altaf Hossain and later adopted as the slogan. In the history of IEAB, IEAB’s constitution-verification, selection, analysis, evaluation and implementation committee elected / nominated member secretary (Engr. Md. Asibul Bashar) is a proud member of this Rajshahi division, IEAB. Even, in the history of IEAB the elected / nominated President of IEAB’s Website Content Development Committee (Engr. Masud Hasan Al Karami) is a proud member of this Rajshahi Division, IEAB.
Rajshahi Division is an administrative region in the mid-western region of Bangladesh. Rajshahi Division is known as City of Education and Barendra Bhoomi. Rajshahi division consists of 8 districts (Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogra, Joypurhat). Being the main division of agriculture, every district is playing a major role in the development of the country. Padma and Yamuna rivers flow along the lap of this division. This section has a collection of noteworthy ancient resources like Mahasthangarh, Buddhvihar, Natore Rajbari and Chalanbil. Along with that, Kachagolla of Natore, Dai of Bogra, Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi are famous all over Bangladesh.
Like other regions of Bangladesh, there is no shortage of rivers in Rajshahi Division. The notable rivers of Rajshahi Division are Padma, Yamuna, Mahananda, Atrai, Ichamati, Karatoa, Baral, Nagar, Bangali Pradhan.
Rajshahi is known as the city of education. There is the country’s second largest university, engineering and technology university, medical college and many higher education institutions. Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Rajshahi University, Pabna Science and Technology University, Pabna Textile University, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Bogra Medical College Hospital, Rajshahi College, Rabindranath University, Pabna Edward College, Azizul Haque College, Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute including various technical institutes And the Polytechnic Institute is located in this division.
Pabna Mental Hospital is reputed all over Bangladesh. There is a popular saying among people, “When someone shows signs of insanity, everyone says in one sentence; I have to send you to Pabna Mental Hospital”.
Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant of Rajshahi Division is a planned nuclear power plant with a capacity of 2.4 GW which is being constructed at Rooppur village of Pakshi Union under Ishwardi Upazila of Pabna, Pabna District, Bangladesh. It is the first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh.
Rajshahi in industrial field: Rajshahi division was once famous for silk. Currently, most of the silk mills have closed down. However, some silk factories are running. The silk factories are under Bangladesh Silk Board. Silk yarn is made from silk. Which is very advanced and expensive.
The number of industrial establishments in Rajshahi is increasing day by day as the problem of gas connection is over. Already established industries in Rajshahi have started getting gas connection. Notable industrial establishments in Rajshahi are: ACI-Godrej, BSIC A Palash Metal, Taskis, Rigate Aluminium, Vishal, Ruchita and Rajshahi Metals Ltd., Modern Plastic Industries Limited in Sapura BSIC Industrial City area of Rajshahi, Zahid Aluminum Industries, Pran Agro Limited, Aroma Food Industries, Sankoa Tex Limited, MH Food and Beverage Limited and NovoAsia Industries Limited, Rajshahi Kharkhari Narikelbaria Anwara Mannan Textile Mills Limited, Rajshahi Pobay Amrit Global Bangladesh Private Limited etc.
Saquatex is going to open the doors of garment business in the entire northern region including Rajshahi. 10,000 unemployed people have been employed in the company at the beginning of production. Its scope is gradually increasing. Manpower will be increased immediately. It is located in Bisik area of the metropolis.
Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (IEPZ) has been established at Ishwardi in Pabna district of Rajshahi division. Ishwardi Export Processing Zone abbreviated as ‘Ishwardi EPZ’, or, also known as ‘Pabna EPZ’. It is a Special Economic Zone of Bangladesh, located in the Ishwardi area near the northern city of Pabna in Bangladesh. This Export Processing Zone was established in 2001 AD. This EPZ, established on an area of 309 acres, is the 3rd largest export processing zone in Bangladesh.
Rajshahi Division has fewer industries / private or non-governmental organizations compared to other divisions, but now various large or heavy industries / small and medium industries / non-governmental organizations are being established due to the solution of the gas problem. Although there is a great potential for building industrial establishments in Rajshahi, due to gas crisis, a very big entrepreneur had to retreat for a long time. In the industrial sector in Rajshahi division, industrial plants are steadily increasing after the gas connection in the region. Now branding Rajshahi is important. Rajshahi now has gas, land is cheap, manpower is plentiful and manpower is readily available. People here are in favor of industrial construction. Rajshahi Division has potential fallow land for making Industrial Zone / Industrial Area in different areas region wise. By setting up factories, economically backward Rajshahi will be able to stand tall, many people will get employment opportunities. People will no longer run to Dhaka for work. As the present government is quite aware of industrial development. Therefore, it is possible to develop the Rajshahi division as an industrial and economic division if the government sees fit.
Various Economic Zones/Industrial Zones have been developed in Rajshahi Division through government and private initiatives. Such as: Natore Economic Zone (Lalpur), Rajshahi Economic Zone (Paba), Bogra Economic Zone-1 (Shahjahanpur), Natore Economic Zone-II (Nator Sadar), Sahahar Economic Zone (Sapahar, Naoga), Pabna Economic Zone (Bera) and Sirajganj Economic Zone.
