ঢাকা বিভাগ, আইইএবি।

০৪ (চার) টি শিল্প বিভাগ এবং ১০ (দশ) টি সাধারণ বিভাগ মোট ১৪ (চৌদ্দ) টি সাংগঠনিক বিভাগের মাধ্যমে সমগ্র বাংলাদেশ ব্যাপী আইইএবি এর সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রম পরিব্যাপ্ত / পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। আইইএবি এর ১০ (দশ) টি সাধারণ সাংগঠনিক বিভাগের মধ্যে ঢাকা বিভাগ আইইএবি এর অন্যতম ০১ (এক) টি সাধারণ সাংগঠনিক বিভাগ।

আইইএবি এর ১৪ ( চৌদ্দ) টি সাংগঠনিক বিভাগে আইইএবি এর জাতীয় প্রেসিডিয়াম কাউন্সিল থেকে ০১ ( এক ) জন করে সদস্য দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হিসেবে আছেন। সেই মোতাবেক, ঢাকা বিভাগের জন্য জাতীয় প্রেসিডিয়াম কাউন্সিল থেকে ০১ ( এক ) জন সদস্য দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হিসেবে আছেন। ঢাকা বিভাগের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য এবং ঢাকা বিভাগের ০৬ (ছয়) টি সাংগঠনিক কাঠামো থেকে নির্বাচিত কাউন্সিলরগণের সমন্বয়ে ঢাকা বিভাগের বিভাগীয় কমিটি (Divisional Committee) গঠিত হয়েছে / হবে। কাউন্সিলরদের মধ্যে একজন চীফ কাউন্সিলর থাকবে। ঢাকা বিভাগের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য ঢাকা বিভাগীয় কমিটির সভাপতির ভুমিকা পালন করবেন এবং ঢাকা বিভাগের চীফ / প্রধান কাউন্সিলর সিলেট বিভাগীয় কমিটির সাধারণ সম্পাদকের ভুমিকা পালন করবেন। ঢাকা বিভাগের বিভাগীয় কমিটির সদস্য সংখ্যা ০৭ (সাত) জন। উল্লেখ্য যে, ঢাকা বিভাগের সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রম বিশেষ তদারকি ও ত্বরান্বিত করতে আইইএবি এর জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটি থেকে ০১ ( এক) জন সদস্য বিশেষ দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত হিসেবে আছেন / থাকবেন। আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটি থেকে ঢাকা বিভাগের জন্য প্রথম বিশেষ দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত সদস্য হলেন প্রকৌঃ আলমগীর আহমেদ।

প্রকৌঃ আলমগীর আহমেদ এবং প্রকৌঃ মীর সালাত মাহমুদ আইইএবি এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্য এবং তারা দুই জনই আইইএবি এর ঢাকা বিভাগের গর্বিত সদস্য। আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে, আইইএবি এর ০৫ (পাচঁ) সদস্য বিশিষ্ট প্রথম জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটির একজন সদস্য হিসেবে প্রকৌঃ আলমগীর আহমেদ নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত হয়েছিলো এই ঢাকা বিভাগ, আইইএবি থেকে। পরবর্তীতে তিনি (প্রকৌঃ আলমগীর আহমেদ) আইইএবি এর প্রথম জাতীয় স্টিয়ারিং কমিটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক ( ভারপ্রাপ্ত) নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত হয়েছিলেন।প্রকৌঃ মীর সালাত মাহমুদ ঢাকা বিভাগ থেকে নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত প্রথম প্রেসিডিয়াম মেম্বার এবং প্রকৌঃ মোঃ ওয়াহিদ মুরাদ ঢাকা বিভাগ থেকে নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত প্রথম চীফ কাউন্সিলর। প্রকৌঃ মোঃ ওয়াহিদ মুরাদ, প্রকৌঃ মোঃ আবিদ হোসেন খান, প্রকৌঃমোঃ কামরুজ্জামান মল্লিক, প্রকৌঃমোঃ জারফাত ইসলাম, প্রকৌঃমোঃ মাহফুজুল ইসলাম এবং প্রকৌঃ. মোঃ রাশেদীন হাসিব হলো আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে ঢাকা বিভাগের বিভিন্ন কাঠামো থেকে নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত প্রথম কাউন্সিলর। এমনকি, আইইএবি এর ইতিহাসে আইইএবি এর ওয়েবসাইট কন্টেন্ট ডেভেলপমেন্ট কমিটির নির্বাচিত / মনোনীত সহ-সভাপতি (প্রকৌঃ মোঃ ওয়াহিদ মুরাদ) এই ঢাকা বিভাগ, আইইএবি এর একজন গর্বিত সদস্য।

ঢাকা বিভাগ সাংগঠনিকভাবে শক্তিশালী একটি বিভাগ। আইইএবি এর কেন্দ্রীয় প্রোগাম “আইইএবি এর গঠনতন্ত উন্মোচন ও হস্তান্তর প্রোগাম” ঢাকা বিভাগের মিরপুর জোনে ২০২১ সালে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিলো। উক্ত প্রোগামে প্রধান অতিথির আসন অলংকৃত কছিলেন অধ্যাপক হাফিজ মোঃ হাসান বাবু ( সাবেক প্রো-ভাইস চান্সেলর, জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, সাবেক সভাপতি, বাংলাদেশ কম্পিউটার সোসাইটি )। কেন্দ্রীয় প্রোগাম হলেও ঢাকা বিভাগে প্রোগামটি অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ায় ঢাকা বিভাগের সদস্যদের ভুমিকা ছিলো অনস্বীকার্য / চোখে পড়ার মতো। আইইএবি একটি জাতীয় সংগঠন। তাই আইইএবি জাতীয় সকল দিবস উৎযাপন করে থাকে। জাতীয় শহিদ মিনার সহ বিভিন্ন জাতীয় স্মৃতি স্তম্ভ ঢাকা বিভাগে অবস্থিত হওয়ায় শহিদ দিবস সহ বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ জাতীয় দিবস/ জাতীয় প্রোগাম / কেন্দ্রীয় প্রোগাম ঢাকা বিভাগে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। উক্ত প্রোগামগুলো আইইএবি এর কেন্দ্রীয় প্রোগাম হলেও ঢাকা বিভাগের ভুমিকা থাকে সবচেয়ে বেশী।

ই্ডিাস্ট্রিয়াল ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বাংলাদেশ (আইইএবি) এর অন্য তেরটি সাংগঠনিক বিভাগের তুলনায় ঢাকা বিভাগের গুরুত্ব অনেক বেশী। কারণ ই্ডিাস্ট্রিয়াল ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বাংলাদেশ (আইইএবি) বেসরকারী সেক্টর / প্রাইভেট সেক্টর / শিল্প সেক্টরে কর্মরত প্রকৌশলীদের প্রাধাণ্য দিয়ে প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয়েছে। তাই বেসরকারী / প্রাইভেট / শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে সংশিষ্ট দায়িত্বশীলদের সাথে আইইএবি এর বিভিন্ন কারণে যোগাযোগ করতে হয় এবং আইইএবি এর দাপ্তরিক প্রয়োজনে সরকারী বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে যোগাযোগ করতে হয়।  বাংলাদেশের বড় বড় বেসরকারী / প্রাইভেট / শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্পোরেট অফিস / কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয় / হেড অফিস ঢাকায় অবস্থিত ও সরকারের সকল প্রতিষ্ঠানের কেন্দ্রীয় দপ্তরও ঢাকায় এবং আইইএবি এর কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ও রাজধানী ঢাকায়। [আইইএবি কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয় ঢাকা মহানগরের কাকরাইলে অবস্থিত। এছাড়াও আইইএবি এর ঢাকা বিভাগীয় কার্যালয় ঢাকার মিরপুরে অবস্থিত। আইইএবি এর ঢাকা মহনগর(উত্তর) এবং ঢাকা মহনগর (দক্ষিণ) এর আলাদা আলাদা কার্যালয় আছে। ] আইইএবি এর কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয় ঢাকায় হওয়াতে এবং বেসরকারী / প্রাইভেট / শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্পোরেট অফিস / কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয় / হেড অফিস ও সরকারের সকল প্রতিষ্ঠানের কেন্দ্রীয় দপ্তর ঢাকায় হওয়াতে এইসব প্রতিষ্ঠানের  সাথে আইইএবি এর দাপ্তরিক কাজ করা এবং যোগাযোগ করা সহজ। এজন্যই আইইএবি এর অন্য তেরটি সাংগঠনিক বিভাগের তুলনায় ঢাকা বিভাগের গুরুত্ব অনেক বেশী।

শিল্প ও বেসরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানে কর্মরত প্রকৌশলীদের কল্যাণের সাথে সম্পর্কিত ”ই্ডিাস্ট্রিয়াল ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বাংলাদেশ ( আইইএবি)” এর অনেক লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য রয়েছে। তার মধ্যে অন্যতম একটি লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য হলো আইইএবি এর ঢাকা বিভাগ সহ অগ্রাধিকার ভিত্তিতে আইইএবি এর সাংগঠনিক সকল বিভাগে প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র বা প্রশিক্ষণ ইনস্টিটিউট স্থাপন করা। তবে ঢাকা বিভাগ বাংলাদেশের প্রাণকেন্দ্র হওয়ায় আইইএবি এর প্রথম প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র বা প্রশিক্ষণ ইনস্টিটিউট এই ঢাকা বিভাগেই স্থাপিত হবে। এই ট্রেনিং ইনস্টিটিউট প্রকৌশলীদের প্রযুক্তিগত মেধা ও দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন ভুমিকা রাখবে। এই ট্রেনিং ইনস্টিটিউটে ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল অটোমেশন এর মতো কোর্স  অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকবে। আইইএবি এর ট্রেনিং ইনস্টিটিউট এর মূল উদ্দেশ্য হবে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে মানসম্পন্ন প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান করা।

যেহেতু আইইএবি কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয় রাজধানী ঢাকায় এবং ঢাকা বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী । তাই আইইএবি এর রাজধানীও ঢাকা বলা যায়। ঢাকা বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী ও বৃহত্তম শহর। বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী ঢাকা হওয়ার সুবাদে ঢাকা বিভাগ বাংলাদেশের প্রশাসনিক অন্য বিভাগগুলোর চেয়ে বেশ গুরুত্বের অধিকারী। ভৌগলিক দিক থেকে বিবেচনা করলে ঢাকা বিভাগ বাংলাদেশের কেন্দ্রে অবস্থিত। ঢাকা বিভাগ গঠিত হয় ১৮২৯ সালে। ১৯৮৩ সালে একে মিউনিসিপাল কর্পোরেশনে  উন্নীত করা হয়। ১৯৯০ সালে ঢাকা শহরকে সিটি কর্পোরেশনের রূপান্তর করা হয়। বর্তমানে ঢাকা সিটি কর্পোরেশন দুই ভাগে বিভক্ত, ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশন এবং ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন। ঢাকা বাংলাদেশের রাজনৈতিক, সাংস্কৃতিক, ও অর্থনৈতিক জীবনের প্রধান কেন্দ্র। ঢাকা মহানগরী এলাকার জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ২ কোটি ১০ লক্ষ যা দেশের মোট জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ১১ ভাগ। উপমহাদেশের শ্রেষ্ঠ বিদ্যাপীঠ ঢাকা ইউনিভার্সিটি ঢাকাতেই অবস্থিত। এটাকে প্রাচ্যের অক্সফোর্ড বলা হয়ে থাকে। ঢাকা বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে প্রযুক্তিগত ও অর্থনৈতিকভাবে উন্নত শহর। প্রধান আইটি শিল্প এই শহরে অবস্থিত। শিক্ষা খাতে বাংলাদেশের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোর মধ্যে ঢাকাই শীর্ষে। বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (বুয়েট), মিলিটারি ইনস্টিটিউট অব সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি (এমআইএসটি), বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব টেক্সটাইল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (বিউটেক্স), আহসানুল্লাহ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি (আউএসটি) ঢাকা শিল্প বিভাগের শীর্ষস্থানীয় প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। এছাড়াও ঢাকার অনেক বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিষয়ে পাঠদান করা হয়। কৃষি বিষয়ে শিক্ষার জন্য ঢাকা বিভাগে আছে শেরে বাংলা কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। মেডিকেল শিক্ষার জন্য ঢাকায় আছে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান মেডিকের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল সহ অনেক বেসরকারি মেডিকেল কলেজ। প্রতিবছর উল্লেখ্যযোগ্য সংখ্যক বিদেশি শিক্ষার্থী বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করার জন্য ঢাকা আগমন করে।

পাশাপাশি ঢাকা পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউট, ঢাকা মহিলা পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউট, গ্রাফিক্স কলেজ, সিরামিক কলেজ দেশের শীর্ষ স্থানীয় ডিপ্লোমা ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান। বৃহত্তম কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র অর্থাৎ বাংলাদেশ-কোরিয়া কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র- বিকেটিটিসি, বাংলাদেশ-জার্মান টেকনিক্যাল ট্রেনিং সেন্টার- বিজিটিটিসি, ইউসিইপি ইনস্টিটিউট অব সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি বিভিন্ন শর্ট কোর্স এবং লং কোর্সের মাধ্যমে কারিগরি দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান করছে। ইউসেপ ইনস্টিটিউট অফ সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজিতে বাংলাদেশ কারিগরি শিক্ষা বোর্ডের অধীনে ডিপ্লোমা প্রোগ্রামও রয়েছে।

জাতীয় সংসদ ভবন, লালবাগ কেল্লা, পরী বিবির মাজার, আহসান মঞ্জিল, বাহাদুর শাহ পার্ক, রমনা পার্ক, কার্জন হল, ছোট কাটরা, বড় কাটরা, রোজ গার্ডেন প্যালেস, শঙ্খনিধি হাউস,  সাউথ টাউন জামে মসজিদ, মুসা খান মসজিদ, তাঁরা মসজিদ, মৈনট ঘাট, লালকুঠি, হোসেনী দালান,  আর্মেনীয় গির্জা, তিন নেতার মাজার, জাতীয় শহীদ মিনার, বলধা গার্ডেন, ঢাকা বোটানিক্যাল গার্ডেন ও ঢাকা চিরিয়াখানা সহ ঢাকা বিভাগে অনেক পত্নতাত্তিক ও দর্শনীয় স্থান রয়েছে।

শিল্প ক্ষেত্রে ঢাকা বিভাগঃ তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল ঢাকা মহানগরে মধ্যে অবস্থিত একটি শিল্পাঞ্চল। এই শিল্পাঞ্চল অনেক পুরাতন ও প্রাচীন। তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল এলাকায় আলাদা একটি থানাও রয়েছে। যার নাম তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল থানা ।  তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল এলাকা থানা (ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন) আয়তন: ৪.৩৮ বর্গ কিমি। সীমানা: উত্তরে গুলশান থানা, দক্ষিণে রমনা ও তেজগাঁও থানা, পূর্বে গুলশান, রামপুরা ও রমনা থানা, পশ্চিমে তেজগাঁও ও ক্যান্টনমেন্ট থানা। তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল এলাকাকে শিল্পের পাশাপাশি বাণিজ্যিক ও আবাসিক এলাকা হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার মহাপরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করছে সরকার। তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল এলায় অবস্থিত শিল্প কারখানা সমুহঃ- বিএসটিআই, ইন্সটিটিউট অব গ্লাস এ্যান্ড সিরামিক্স, কোহিনূর কেমিক্যাল কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, লালবাগ কেমিক্যাল কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, এসিআই কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, ফিনিস কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, নাভানা পেইন্ট, নোভার্টিজ কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, ইনসেপ্টা ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড, জেসন ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড, ফার্মাদেশ ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড, ওরিয়ন ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড, গ্যাকো ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড, কেন্দ্রীয় ঔষধাগার, এসেনসিয়াল ড্রাগ কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, হক বিস্কুট কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, মিমি চকলেট এ্যান্ড আইসক্রিম কোম্পানি লিমিটেড, নাবিস্কো কোম্পানি লিমিটেড ইত্যাদি।

ঢাকার কেরানীগঞ্জে রয়েছে বিসিক শিল্প নগরী। এসব শিল্প নগরীতে রয়েছে সার্বক্ষনিক গ্যাস, পানি, বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহের ব্যবস্থা। কেরানীগঞ্জে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ অর্থনৈতিক জোন অথরিটি (বেজা) এর অধীনে সরকারী ব্যবস্থাপনায় “ঢাকা স্পেশাল ইকোনমিক জোন, কেরানীগঞ্জ” । এছাড়াও দেশের শীর্ষ স্থানীয় শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান বসুন্ধরা গ্রুপ সরকারী অনুমোদন নিয়ে রাজধানী ঢাকার উপকণ্ঠ কেরানীগঞ্জে নিজস্ব জমিতে দুটি আলাদা অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল গড়ে তোলেছে । যার একটি হলো ”ইস্ট ওয়েস্ট গ্রুপ স্পেশাল ইকোনমিক জোন” এবং অপরটি হলো ”বসুন্ধরা স্পেশাল ইকোনমিক জোন”। ৫৬ একর জায়গাজুড়ে ”বসুন্ধরা স্পেশাল ইকোনমিক জোন লিমিটেড “ নামের অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলটি ঢাকা থেকে ১৫ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণে কেরানীগঞ্জের হাজারীবাগ এলাকায় কাটুরাইল মৌজায় অবস্থিত। পর্যায়ক্রমে এই ইকোনমিক জোনকে ২২৩ একর পর্যন্ত সম্প্রসারণ করা হবে ( সম্প্রসারণের কাজ প্রক্রিয়াধীন)।  আর ৫৩ একর জায়গাজুড়ে ”ইস্ট ওয়েস্ট স্পেশাল ইকোনমিক জোন লিমিটেড”নামের অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলটি কেরানীগঞ্জ উপজেলার কোণ্ডা এলাকায় অবস্থিত। এই অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলটি সম্প্রসারণ করে ২১৮ একর জমির ওপর করা হবে( সম্প্রসারণের কাজ প্রক্রিয়াধীন)। সব মিলিয়ে ৪৪১ একর জমির উপর এই দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলের সীমানা হবে। দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলে রয়েছে তেল পরিশোধনাগার, গ্যাস সিলিন্ডার তৈরি, খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণ, সিরামিক ও ওষুধ শিল্প ইত্যাদি। একই সঙ্গে জাহাজ শিল্প, ইস্পাত, কাগজ, পোশাক, হাসপাতাল, শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান, শপিং মল, হোটেল ও মহিলা হোস্টেলও নির্মাণ করা হচ্ছে। দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলে ভারী ও মাঝারি শিল্প-কারখানা স্থাপিত হওয়ায় এই দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলে প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষভাবে ৪০ হাজার মানুষের কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলই আন্তর্জাতিকমানের ও পরিবেশসম্মত।

ঢাকার দোহারে শিল্প বান্ধব পরিবেশ বিদ্যমান। অনেক আগে থেকেই দোহারে অনেক শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান রয়েছে। ঢাকার দোহারেও সরকারী ব্যবস্থাপনায় গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে ঢাকা ইকোনমিক জোন, দোহার। এছাড়াও ঢাকার কাছে দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল প্রতিষ্ঠার অনুমোদন পেয়েছে বাংলাদেশ অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল কর্তৃপক্ষ (বেজা)। এই দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলে ঢাকার ভেতরে থাকা প্লাস্টিক, হালকা প্রকৌশল, রাসায়নিকসহ অন্যান্য শিল্প সরিয়ে নেওয়া হবে। দুটি অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলের একটি হবে ঢাকার নবাবগঞ্জ ও অপরটি হবে মুন্সিগঞ্জের সিরাজদিখানে। নবাবগঞ্জে অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলটি হবে কৈলাইন ইউনিয়নের দৌলতপুর মৌজায়। ৫০০ একর করে দুই অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলের আকার হবে ১ হাজার একর। ঢাকার কাছে সরকারিভাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হতে যাওয়া এই দুই অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলে অন্যান্য দেশি ও বিদেশি বিনিয়োগকারীদের জন্যও জমি থাকবে। অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল দুটি হলে ঢাকা মহানগর ( পুরান ঢাকা ) থেকে  ১ হাজার ২০০ রাসায়নিক কারখানা /গুদাম,  প্লাস্টিকের কারখানা, ও হালকা প্রকৌশল শিল্পকারখানাগুলো যেমন সরানো যাবে, তেমনি ঢাকার কাছে বিদেশি বিনিয়োগকারীদেরও জমির চাহিদা মেটানো যাবে। পুরান ঢাকা থেকে এসব কারখানা সরিয়ে নিতে ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসায়ী / উদ্যোক্তাদের স্বল্পমূল্যে জমি দেওয়া হবে। বেসরকারী উদ্যোগে ঢাকা বিভাগে গড়ে উঠেছে বিভিন্ন অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চন / শিল্প অঞ্চল। যেমনঃ ইউনাইটেড সিটি আইটি পার্ক ( ভাটারা /বাড্ডা) এবং সিটি স্পেশোল ইকোনমিক জোন (ডেমরা)।

ক্রমাগতভাবে শিল্প প্রসারণকে প্রাধান্য দিয়ে ঢাকা বিভাগের অধীনে কয়েকটি শিল্প ইউনিট গঠন করা হয়েছে। বিভিন্ন শিল্প ইউনিটের অধীনে বিভিন্ন উপ-শিল্প ইউনিট গঠন করা হয়েছে। শিল্প ইউনিট গুলো জেলা কাঠামোর সমমান এবং উপ-শিল্প ইউনিটগুলো উপজেলা কাঠামোর সমমান।

আইইএবি এর ঢাকা বিভাগের অধীনস্ত সাংগঠনিক কাঠামোগুলো নিন্মে বর্ণিত হলো। যেমনঃ– ১। ঢাকা মহানগর (উত্তর), 2. ঢাকা মহানগর (দক্ষিণ) 3. তেজগাঁও শিল্প ইউনিট 4. কেরানীগঞ্জ শিল্প ইউনিট 5. নবাবগঞ্জ শিল্প ইউনিট এবং 6. দোহার শিল্প ইউনিট।

আইইএবি এর সিলেট বিভাগের জেলা / মহানগর / শিল্প ইউনিটগুলোর এর অধীনস্ত সাংগঠনিক কাঠামোগুলো নিন্মে বর্ণিত হলো। যেমনঃ-

ঢাকা মহানগর (উত্তর) এর অধীনস্ত আইএবি এর সাংগঠনিক কাঠামো সমুহঃ–

দোহার শিল্প ইউনিট এর অধীনস্ত আইএবি এর সাংগঠনিক কাঠামো সমুহঃ–

১। লক্ষ্মীপুর (লক্ষ্মীপুর) সদর উপজেলা ২। রামগতি উপজেলা,৩। কমলনগর উপজেলা ৪। রায়পুর উপজেলা, ৫। রামগঞ্জ উপজেলা, ৬। লক্ষ্মীপুর পৌরসভা, ৭। রায়পুর পৌরসভা ৮। রামগঞ্জ পৌরসভা এবং ৯। রামগতি পৌরসভা।

 

Dhaka Division, IEAB

The organizational activities of IEAB are being carried out all over Bangladesh through 04 (four) industrial divisions and 10 (ten) general divisions totaling 14 (fourteen) organizational divisions. Among the 10 (ten) General Organizational Divisions of IEAB, Dhaka Division is one of the important General Organizational Divisions of IEAB.

14 (fourteen) organizational divisions of IEAB have 01 (one) members as incumbents from the National Presidium Council of IEAB. Accordingly, 01 (one) member from National Presidium Council for Dhaka division is in charge. The Divisional Committee of Dhaka Division has been/will be formed by the presidium members in charge of Dhaka Division and councilors selected from 06 (six) organizational structures of Dhaka Division. Among the Councilors there will be a Chief Councilor. The presidium member in charge of Dhaka Division will play the role of President of Dhaka Divisional Committee and Chief/Principal Councilor of Dhaka Division will play the role of General Secretary of Dhaka Divisional Committee. The number of members of the Divisional committee of Dhaka division is 7 (Seven). It is noted that 01 (one) member from the National Steering Committee of IEAB is/will be specially assigned to supervise and accelerate the organizational activities of Dhaka Division. In the history of IEAB, Engr. Alamgir Ahmed is the first special responsible member for Dhaka Division from the National Steering Committee, IEAB.

Engr. Alamgir Ahmed and Engr. Mir Salat Mahmood are the founder members of IEAB and both are proud members of IEAB’s Dhaka Division. In the history of IEAB, Engr. Alamgir Ahmed was elected / nominated as a member of the 05 (five) member first National Steering Committee of IEAB from Dhaka Division, IEAB. Later on, he (Engr. Alamgir Ahmed) was elected/nominated as General Secretary (Acting) of the first National Steering Committee of IEAB. Engr. Mir Salat Mahmud is the first elected/nominated Presidium member from Dhaka Division and Engr. Md. Wahid Murad is the first elected/nominated Chief Councilor from Dhaka Division.  Engr. Md. Wahid Murad, Engr. Md. Abid Hussain Khan, Engr. Md. Kamruzzaman Mollick, Engr. Md. Zarafat Islam, Engr. Md. Mahfujul Islam and Engr. Md. Rashedin Hasib are the first elected / nominated Councilors from various structures of Dhaka Division in the history of IEAB. Even, in the history of IEAB the elected / nominated Vice President of IEAB’s Website Content Development Committee (Engr. Md. Wahid Murad) is a proud member of this Dhaka Division, IEAB.

Dhaka Division is an organizationally strong division. Central Program of IEAB “The Constitution Opening and Handover Program of IEAB” was held in Mirpur Zone of Dhaka Division in 2021. Professor Dr. Hafiz Md Hasan Babu (Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, National University, Former President, Bangladesh Computer Society) graced the chief guest’s seat in the program. Although it was the central program, as the program was held in Dhaka Division, the role of the members of Dhaka Division was undeniable. IEAB is a national organization. So IEAB celebrates all national days. Various National Memorials including National Martyrs Minar are located in Dhaka Division, various important National Days / National Programs / Central Programs including Martyrs Day are held in Dhaka Division. Although these programs are central programs of IEAB, the role of Dhaka Division is the largest.

The importance of Dhaka division is much higher than other thirteen organizational divisions of Industrial Engineers Association of Bangladesh (IEAB). Because Industrial Engineers Association of Bangladesh (IEAB) has been established with the priority of Engineers working in Non-Government Sector / Private Sector / Industrial Sector. Therefore, IEAB has to interact with officials associated with non-government / private / industrial organizations for various reasons and IEAB has to interact with various government institutions for the official needs of IEAB. The corporate office / central office / head office of the major private /non-government/ Industrial organizations of Bangladesh is located in Dhaka and the central office of all government institutions is also in Dhaka and the central office of IEAB is also in the capital Dhaka. [IEAB Central Office is located in Kakrail, Dhaka Metropolis. Also, the Dhaka divisional office of IEAB is located in Mirpur, Dhaka. IEAB has separate offices in Dhaka Metropolitan (North) and Dhaka Metropolitan (South)]. As the central office of IEAB is in Dhaka and the corporate office / central office / head office of private / private / industrial organizations and the central office of all the institutions of the government are in Dhaka, it is easy to do official work and communicate with these institutions of IEAB. That is why the importance of Dhaka Division is much higher than other thirteen organizational divisions of IEAB.

“Industrial Engineers Association of Bangladesh (IEAB)” has many goals and objectives related to the welfare of engineers working in industry and private organizations. One of the goals and objectives is to establish training centers or training institutes in all the organizational divisions of IEAB on priority basis including Dhaka division of IEAB. However, since Dhaka Division is the heart of Bangladesh, IEAB’s first training center or training institute will be established in this Dhaka Division. The training institute will play a role in developing the technical talent and skills of the engineers. This training institute will include courses like Industrial Automation. The main objective of IEAB’s training institute will be to provide quality training to the participants.

As IEAB central office is in Dhaka and Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. So, the capital of IEAB can also be called Dhaka. Dhaka is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. Due to the fact that Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka Division is more important than other administrative divisions of Bangladesh. Geographically, Dhaka Division is located in the center of Bangladesh. Dhaka Division was formed in 1829. It was upgraded to a Municipal Corporation in 1983. In 1990, Dhaka city was converted into a city corporation. Presently Dhaka City Corporation is divided into two parts, Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation. Dhaka is the main center of political, cultural, and economic life of Bangladesh. The population of Dhaka metropolitan area is about 2 crore 10 lakh which is about 11 percent of the total population of the country. Dhaka University, the best university in the subcontinent, is located in Dhaka. It is called the Oxford of the East. Dhaka is the most technologically and economically advanced city of Bangladesh. Major IT industries are located in this city. Dhaka is at the top among the universities of Bangladesh in the education sector. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Bangladesh University of Textile Engineering (BUTEX), Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (UST) are leading engineering universities of Dhaka Industrial Division. Also, many private universities in Dhaka teach engineering subjects. There is Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in Dhaka division for education in agriculture. For medical education Dhaka has many private medical colleges including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University, Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Every year a significant number of foreign students come to Dhaka to study various subjects.

Besides, Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, Dhaka Women’s Polytechnic Institute, Graphics College, Ceramic College are the top local diploma engineering educational institutions of the country. The largest technical training centers i.e., Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Center- BKTTC, Bangladesh-German Technical Training Center- BGTTC, UCEP Institute of Science and Technology are providing technical skill development training through various short courses and long courses. USEP Institute of Science and Technology also has diploma program under Bangladesh Board of Technical Education.

There are many archaeological and sightseeing places in Dhaka Division including Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan, Lalbagh Fort, Pari Bibi Mazar, Ahsan Manjil, Bahadur Shah Park, Ramana Park, Curzon Hall, Chota Katra, Big Katra, Rose Garden Palace, Shankhanidhi House, South Town Jame Masjid, Musa Khan Masjid, Nalla Masjid, Maint Ghat, Lalkuthi, Hosseini Dalan, Armenian Church, Shrine of Three Leaders, Jatiya Shaheed Minar, Baldha Garden, Dhaka Botanical Garden and Dhaka Chiriakhana.

In the field of industry, Dhaka Division: Tejgaon Industrial Area is an industrial area located in Dhaka Metropolis. This industrial area is very old and ancient. There is also a separate police station in the Tejgaon industrial area. Its name is Tejgaon Shilpanchal Thana. Tejgaon Industrial Area Thana (Dhaka Metropolitan) Area: 4.38 sq km. Boundaries: North by Gulshan Police Station, South by Ramna and Tejgaon Police Stations, East by Gulshan, Rampura and Ramna Police Stations, West by Tejgaon and Cantonment Police Stations. The government is adopting a master plan to develop the Tejgaon industrial area as an industrial as well as a commercial and residential area. Industrial Factories located in Tejgaon Industrial Area:- BSTI, Institute of Glass and Ceramics, Kohinoor Chemical Company Limited, Lalbagh Chemical Company Limited, ACI Company Limited, Finish Company Limited, Navana Paint, Novartis Company Limited, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited, Jason Pharmaceuticals Limited, Pharmadesh Pharmaceuticals Limited, Orion Pharmaceuticals Limited, Gaco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Central Pharmacy, Essential Drug Company Limited, Hawk Biscuit Company Limited, Mimi Chocolate & Ice Cream Company Limited, Nabisco Company Limited etc.

Dhaka’s Keraniganj has a BSCIC industrial city. These industrial cities have round-the-clock gas, water, electricity supply system. “Dhaka Special Economic Zone, Keraniganj” under government management under Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) is being developed in Keraniganj. In addition, Bashundhara Group, the country’s top local industrial company, has developed two separate economic zones on its own land in Keraniganj, a suburb of the capital Dhaka, with government approval.  One of which is “East West Group Special Economic Zone” and the other is “Basundhara Special Economic Zone”. Covering an area of 56 acres, the economic zone named “Basundhara Special Economic Zone Limited” is located at Katurail Mauza in Hazaribagh area of Keraniganj, 15 km south of Dhaka. Phase by phase this economic zone will be expanded to 223 acres (expansion work is in progress). And the economic zone named “East West Special Economic Zone Limited” covering an area of 53 acres is located in Konda area of Keraniganj upazila. This economic zone will be expanded to cover 218 acres of land (expansion work in progress). In all, these two economic zones will border on 441 acres of land. The two economic zones include oil refineries, gas cylinder manufacturing, food processing, ceramics and pharmaceutical industries, etc. At the same time, shipbuilding, steel, paper, clothing, hospitals, educational institutions, shopping malls, hotels and women’s hostels are also being built. Due to the establishment of heavy and medium industries in the two economic zones, employment opportunities for 40 thousand people have been created directly and indirectly in these two economic zones. Both economic zones are of international standard and environment friendly.

Industry-friendly environment exists in Dhaka’s Doha. There are many industrial establishments in Doha since long ago. Dhaka Economic Zone, Doha is being developed under government management in Doha. Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has also approved the establishment of two economic zones near Dhaka. Plastic, light engineering, chemicals and other industries inside Dhaka will be moved to these two economic zones. One of the two economic zones will be in Nawabganj in Dhaka and the other in Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj. The economic zone in Nawabganj will be in Daulatpur Mauza of Kailain Union. The size of two economic zones of 500 acres each will be 1 thousand acres. The two economic zones to be officially established near Dhaka will also have land for other domestic and foreign investors. If there are two economic zones, 1,200 chemical factories/warehouses, plastic factories, and light engineering industries can be moved from Dhaka Metropolis (old Dhaka), as well as foreign investors’ land needs can be met near Dhaka. Small traders/entrepreneurs will be given land at low cost to move these factories from Old Dhaka. Various Economic Zones/Industrial Zones have been developed in Dhaka Division by private initiative. E.g., United City IT Park (Vatara / Badda) and City Special Economic Zone (Demra).

Several industrial units have been formed under the Dhaka division with continuous emphasis on industrial expansion. Various sub-industrial units are formed under various industrial units. Industrial units are equivalent to district structure and sub-industrial units are equivalent to upazila structure.

The organizational structures under Dhaka Division of IEAB are described below. For example: – 1. Dhaka Metropolitan (North), 2. Dhaka Metropolitan (South) 3. Tejgaon Industrial Unit 4. Keraniganj Industrial Unit 5. Nawbabganj Industrial Unit and 6. Dohar Industrial Unit.

The subordinate organizational structures of District / Metropolitan / Industrial Units of Dhaka Division of IEAB are described below. For example: –

 

The organizational structure of IEAB under Dhaka Metropolitan (North) includes: –

1. Zone-1 (Turag, Uttara West, Uttara East, Uttarkhan, Dakkhinkhan, Bimanbandar), 2. Zone-2 (Mirpur, Pallabi, Rupnagar, Shahali, Kafrul, Bhashantek) 3. Zone-3 (Khilkhet, Vatara, Badda, Rampura, Hatirjheel ) 4. Zone-4 (Sher-E-Bangla nagar, Mohammadpur, Adabor, Darussalam) 5. Zone-5 (Cantonment, Banani and Gulshan).

The organizational structure of IEAB under Dhaka Metropolitan (South) includes: –

1. Zone-1 (Paltan, Motijheel), 2. Zone-2 (Sabujbagh, Khilgaon, Mugda, Shahjahanpur, Shampur) 3. Zone-3 (Jatrabari, Demra, Kadamtali, Gandaria, Wari) 4. Zone-4 (Ramna, Shahbag, Dhanmondi, Kalabgan) and 5. Zone-5 (Hazaribagh, Kotwali, Sutrapur, Lalbagh, Bangsal, Chawkbazar, and Kamrangirchar)

 

The organizational structure of IEAB under Tejgaon Industrial Unit includes: –

1. Tejgaon Sub-Industrial Unit-1, and 2. Tejgaon Sub-Industrial Unit-2

The organizational structure of IEAB under Keraniganj Industrial Unit includes: –

1. Keraniganj Municipality, 2. Keraniganj Sub-Industrial Unit-1, 3. Keraniganj Sub-Industrial Unit-2, 4. Keraniganj Sub-Industrial Unit-3, and 5. Keraniganj Sub-Industrial Unit-4.

The organizational structure of IEAB under Nawbabganj Industrial Unit includes: –

1. Nawbabganj Municipality, 2. Nawbabganj Sub-Industrial Unit-1, 3. Nawbabganj Sub-Industrial Unit-2, 4. Nawbabganj Sub-Industrial Unit-3, and 5. Nawbabganj Sub-Industrial Unit-4.

1. Dohar Municipality, 2. Dohar Sub-Industrial Unit-1, 3. Dohar Sub-Industrial Unit-1, and 4. Dohar Sub-Industrial Unit-1.
