Eligibility to Become a Member

1.  Must be a Bangladeshi citizen and engineer residing in Bangladesh or other countries of the world.
2.  Educational qualification and other qualifications as per type / category / Criteria of membership “shall be.
3.  Engineering educational institutes on abroad should be recognized or equivalent by Bangladesh government affiliated institutes and the engineering degrees must be equivalent.
4.  Should be Engineer working in Industrial/Private/Non-Government organization. However, it is not mandatory to be in service / working or retired from service / working in case of Associate Member, Donor / Patron Member, Graduate Student Member, Students Member and Virtual Member as per type / category / criteria of membership. It should be noted that engineers working in government industrial institutions and other government institutions and autonomous institutions can also become members, voters and vote in accordance with the goals, objectives, future plans, rules and constitution of IEAB. Members of IEAB who are government employees / retired from government service can be nominated or elected to the committee only by participating in the committee elections at the upazila or equivalent and district or equivalent levels. However, they cannot be elected to district or equivalent higher committees or moreover, he cannot be nominated in any committee and become a superior. However, members of IEAB who are in Government service / retired from Government service can remain as members of IEAB’s Advisory Council and as members of various sub-committees including IEAB’s portal.

However, those Engineers who have become members of IEAB before joining the Government service, can remain in the existing committee after joining the Government service but cannot participate in the next election / remain in the committee after the expiry of the tenure of the existing committee. They will then be considered as ordinary members.

1. বাংলাদেশ বা বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশে অবস্থানরত বাংলাদেশী নাগরিক ও প্রকৌশলী হতে হবে।
2. সদস্যতার ধরণ /ক্যাটাগরি /মানদন্ড অনুযায়ী শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা ও অন্যান্য যোগ্যতা “হবে।
3.  বহির্বিশ্বের ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো বাংলাদেশের সরকারের সংশিষ্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানের স্বীকৃত বা সসমানের হতে হবে এবং ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং ডিগ্রিগুলো ইকুভ্যালেন্ট (equivalent) / সমমানের হতে হবে ।
4.  শিল্প / প্রাইভেট / বেসরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানে কর্মরত প্রকৌশলী হতে হবে। তবে সদস্যতার ধরণ / ক্যাটাগরি / মানদন্ড অনুযায়ী সহযোগী সদস্য, দাতা / পৃষ্টপোষক সদস্য, গ্রাজুয়েটস স্টুডেন্ট সদস্য, স্টুডেন্টস সদস্য এবং ভার্চ্যুয়াল সদস্য হওয়ায় ক্ষেত্রে চাকুরীরত / কর্মরত বা চাকুরী / কর্ম থেকে অবসরপ্রাপ্ত হওয়া বাধ্যতামূলক নয়। উল্লেখ্য যে, সরকারী শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান ও অন্যান্য সরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান এবং স্বায়ত্বশাসিত প্রতিষ্ঠানে কর্মরত প্রকৌশলীগণও আইইএবি-এর লক্ষ্য, উদ্দেশ্য, ভবিষৎ পরিকল্পনা, নিয়ম-নীতি ও গঠনতন্ত্র মেনে সদস্য হতে পারবে, ভোটার হতে পারবে, ভোটও দিতে পারবে। সরকারী চাকুরীজীবি / সরকারী চাকুরী হইতে অবসরপ্রাপ্ত আইইএবি এর সদস্যরা শুধুমাত্র উপজেলা বা সমমান এবং জেলা বা সমমান পর্যায়ে কমিটির নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহনের মাধ্যমে কমিটিতে মনোনীত বা নির্বাচিত হতে পারবেন। তবে জেলা বা সমমানের তদুর্ধ্ব কমিটিতে নির্বাচন করতে পারবেন না বা তদুর্ধ্ব কোন কমিটিতে মনোনীত হয়ে পদ-পদবীতে অধীষ্ঠ হতে পারবেন না। তবে সরকারী চাকুরীজীবি / সরকারী চাকুরী হইতে অবসরপ্রাপ্ত আইইএবি এর সদস্যরা এর আইইএবি এর উপদেষ্টা পরিষদের সদস্য হিসেবে থাকতে পারবেন এবং আইইএবি এর পোর্টাল সহ বিভিন্ন উপ-কমিটির সদস্য হিসেবে থাকতে পারবেন।

তবে যেসকল প্রকৌশলীগণ সরকারী চাকুরীতে যোগদানের পূর্বেই আইইএবি এর সদস্য হয়েছিল, তারা সরকারী চাকুরীতে যোগদানের পরও বিদ্যমান কমিটিতে থাকতে পারবেন কিন্তু বিদ্যমান কমিটির মেয়াদ শেষে পরবর্তী নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারবে না / কমিটিতে থাকতে পারবে না। তখন তারা সাধারণ সদস্য হিসাবে বিবেচিত হবে।
